Outside the Cave

Year: 1491, Month: Tarsakh, Date: 26th

As we emerge from the cave mouth, we are hit by the full force of the wind.  We are high in the mountains, well above the tree line.  The wind is howling around our ears, although it is a very bright and sunny day.  The ground is covered in deep snow, but it looks undisturbed around the cave entrance.

We look around for any signs of Harshnag, or where he might be.  After a little time, we spot a half buried trail leading away from the cave and down the mountain.  We gather together our gear, and decide to set off and follow the trail as we have no better ideas and none of us are skilled in tracking.  Where's Carrot when you need him?
What is Leotard doing?  He changes himself into a cloud. No idea what hes doing, maybe he just is trying to show off his wizarding skills?  After a while, he reforms back to himself - maybe it was a way of keeping warm?  It certainly didn't bring us any further forward in our search for Harshnag.

We follow the trail and begin to make our way slowly down the mountain towards the tree line.  All of a sudden, there is a darkening from above that blocks out the sunlight.  Something flew over us, although I didn't hear anything, but it must have been huge to block that much light unless it was very close.  I move my hand to the hilt of my sword, ready to draw at a moments notice.  We all take a look around, but all I can see is sky and clouds and the snow on the ground.  Celery says quietly that she thinks she can see a huge flying creature someway off, extremely large, and raptor like!  It doesn't seem to be coming our way though so we keep walking towards the tree line following the trail as best we can.  We pick up our speed as much as we can in the heavy conditions, to try and make the treeline as quickly as possible to give us some cover from the flying creature.

The sun is shadowed a number of times as we make our way down, but the creature never seems to approach.  I don't see how it missed us, what with Enya in that huge purple and orange hat, contrasting herself magnificently against the white of the snow.  Maybe the creature is snow blind!

Eventually the path  disappears, and after about two hours we make it into the trees and off the main part of the mountain and into the surrounding hills.

We travel west, moving out of the mountains, where eventually we come to a road going north-south.  It's getting late so we decide to camp by the side of the road in Leo's hut.
